Sesquicentennial $2.50 Gold (1926) MS63 original. This issue was struck to be sold at the Sesquicentennial Exhibition held in Philadelphia from June 1st to Nov 30th 1926. 45,793 were sold at $4 each. No packaging of any kind came with the coin, so typical handling has rendered higher-grade specimens rather scarce. Accompanying notes provided by the consignor with this coin (not included) provide strong evidence that this coin was obtained from the exhibition or shortly thereafter. (Image)
