Illustrated Lettersheet circa 1854 usage under cover of illustrated lettersheet 'ST JAMES CHURCH SYDNEY' with imprint 'C Ashton Sc' at L/R on thick 4to blue paper, 4pp fully written & being part of a longer missive, ink-blotch affects the right-hand side of the illustration & a few other minor blemishes, still quite fine for these. The letter, from an American, is full of animated and largely positive social commentary, & states "...The Anniversary of the Founding of the Colony was an important time...equivalent to the 4th of July at home...Sydney [has] all sorts of people..."
