1921 (July 1) Registered cover to Shantung carried on the first return flight from Peking to Tsinan franked 1920 Flood Relief surcharge set of three and Air 60c, arrival c.d.s, reverse with boxed Peking flight cachet in violet. 1927 Berlin to Peking survey flight, official flight postcard depicting Chinese with carts and a camel and an aeroplane overhead, posted from Shanghai (Sep 27) to Berlin franked 6c, probably from one of the pilots or crew, message in German, very scarce.

1929 (July) Long registered cover from Canton to USA franked Junk 1c pair + 4c and Sun Yat-Sen Mausoleum 4c imprint strip of five, flown from Canton to Shanghai by the French aviators Rignot and Arrachart with the flight cachet in red, Shanghai and New York backstamps, also a fine real Photo postcard of the two aviators with their aeroplane. 1929 (July 8/9) Shanghai to Nanking flights, two first flight covers franked 4c + Air 15c or registered franked Chiang Kai-Shek 10c + Air set of five, and a second day registered flight cover franked Sun Yat-Sen Mausoleum 10c + Air set of five, with the special propeller cancel on the air stamps only on the first flight covers, date inverted on the first day and the flight number unchanged in error on the second day, the registered covers with red bilingual "AIR MAILS", one cover opened out with the reverse folded to show the backstamps. 1929 (Oct 21) Cover (printed Chinese flag at left) from Wuchang to USA franked Chiang Kai-Shek 10c and Air 15c, carried on the China Airways first flight from Hankow to Shanghai, signed by the pilot Ernest M. Allison. A fine and scarce pilot signed cover. Photo on Page 116. (Image1)

1930 Commercial covers to the Hankow Herald newspaper, both flown from Shanghai to Hankow with blue "Par Avion" labels, one from Reuters News Agency franked 10c pair + Air 30c (vertical fold, reduced at left), the other franked 4c + Air 15c. (2).

1930 (Dec 4) Cover flown from Canton to Wuchow on the fourth military air force flight with large red boxed cachet, 4c + Air 15c cancelled by red "carried by plane" cachet and upon arrival with Wuchow datestamps, very fine.

1931 (Jan 16) Canton to Wuchow service flown by the military air force, first outward and return flight covers, the Canton cover with "KWANGTUNG / AIRMAILS" boxed cachet, Wuchow return flight cover with red bilingual "PAR AVION", arrival backstamps, both fine. (2).

1931 (Mar 31/Apr 1) C.N.A.C First flight covers posted at Wuchang (3) or Shanghai, flown from Shanghai or Hankow (3) to Ichang, one franked 4c + Air 15c, the others registered franked 10c + Air 15c (2) or 10c + Air 30c (from Shanghai), two returned to Shanghai, also a cover carried on the first return flight from Ichang to Wuchang franked 4c + Air 15c, all opened out to show the backstamps, otherwise fine. 1931 (Apr 15) C.N.A.C Peking-Nanking route printed first flight covers (2) and a card with an illustration of an aircraft, Peking to Nanking envelope printed in red franked 4c + Air 15c, Nanking to Peking envelope printed in blue registered franked 10c + Air 15c and a 2c postcard printed in green franked Air 15c, arrival datestamps, fine and attractive. (3).

1931 (Apr 15) C.N.A.C Peking to Nanking first flight covers (3) and Nanking to Peking return first flight cover, three franked 4c + Air 15c, one registered to Shanghai franked 10c + Air 15c, two with bilingual "PAR AVION", one with unusual boxed "FIRST AIR MAIL / PEIPING - NANKING", opened out with reverse folded to show the backstamps, otherwise fine. (4).

1931 (May 2/31) Eurasia Aviation Corp. first flights to Europe via Manchouli, printed first flight envelopes, one with embossed seal on reverse only, carried on an earlier trial flight, addressed to Vienna franked by five 16c stamps + Air set of five all cancelled at Shanghai on May 2nd, datestamps of Moscow and Berlin (both May 18) and Vienna (May 19) with red "MIT LUFTPOST BEFORDERT / LUFTPOSTAMT / BERLIN C2", Chinese and Russian Air Mail labels; a second envelope unusually with embossed seal on both front and reverse, bearing 22 differing definitives to the $5 and Air set of five all cancelled to order with the special pictorial cancel. Scarce, few of these covers received seals on both sides, the early May trial flight not recorded by Starr & Mills. (2). Photo on Page 116. (Image1)

1931 (May 31/June 13) Eurasia Aviation Corp. first flights to and from Europe via Manchouli, covers from Shanghai to England franked 20c + Air 60c (2) and 90c or registered to France franked $1.80 + Air 60c, and a cover addressed in Chinese franked 4c (not flown) all cancelled by the Shanghai pictorial datestamp incorporating an aeroplane; June 5th cover to Harbin with 10c cancelled by c.d.s and Air 45c tied by the special pictorial cancel; and two June 16th first flight covers from Berlin franked 1.25m to Nanking or Wuchang with Manchouli transit datestamps. 1931 (July 13) Cover flown by Francis Chichester on the Mati to Ormoc leg of his Australia to Japan solo flight via the Philippines and China, signed by the pilot. Also a 1967 G.B Gypsy Moth IV Yacht 1/9 F.D.C signed by Chichester. 136 Covers flown. (2).

1931-32 Commercial red band envelopes franked 5c or 10c with two 15c Air stamps, from Chungan to Shanghai or Wanhsien to Hangchow via Ichang, one with minor edge faults. (2).

1932 (Sep 24) Von Gronau round the world flight, two covers flown from Shanghai to Manila with flight cachet, one franked 25c + Air 60c, the other unusually with 16 stamps (including Air set of three) totalling $3.70 and signed by von Gronau. (2).

1933 (Jan-Oct) C.N.A.C First flight covers comprising Jan. 12th Shanghai to Tientsin franked 6c + two 15c Air stamps; June 1-7 Chungking - Chengtu printed envelopes carried on the June 1st trial flight franked Air 15c to Kiukiang (red "COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT CLEARANCE OFFICE / KIUKIANG CUSTOMS" handstamp) or registered to Chengtu franked 18c + 1932 Air 15c, or carried on the June 7th first regular return flight from Chengtu to Shanghai franked 17c + 1929 Air set of five; October 25th Canton to Shanghai return flight franked 1932 Air 60c, June and October covers with special cancels. 1933 Commercial flight covers, a red band envelope from Canton to Chungking franked 10c + 1929 Air 45c, possibly carried on a survey flight; and a cover from Hwaining to Kuling franked 17c + 1929 Air 15c, endorsed "Air Mail Express Letter". (2).

1933-35 Commercial covers with violet explanatory cachets comprising 1933 cover from Changsha to USA franked 35c + 1929 Air 15c, flown to Shanghai with boxed "AIRMAIL SERVICE IN CHINA ONLY"; and covers from Shanghai to G.B, endorsed for K.L.M from Singapore franked 72c with "By Netherlands Air Mail" (faults), or endorsed for French air mail from Saigon franked $4.23 with "Par Avion Saigon - Marseille et au dela / de Marseille".
