1900 (Peking) 7k stationery entire envelope, additionally franked with 3k and 10k "Kitai" adhesives, tied by framed "Pekin 19-00" handstamp, repeated below, with date (24.XI) filled-in by hand, Registry label No.526 added alongside, sent through the Russian Post Office in Port Arthur (10.XII) and Shanghai (28.XII) to Germany, with Russian Post Office in Chefoo (11 Dec) and Hong Kong transit pmks on back, Freiburg (1.2.01) arrival, crayon markings, extremely rare registered cover with provisional "Pekin" handstamp (the Russian Post Office in Peking lost its circular datestamp during the siege of the Legations in 1900. The local provisional handstamps were improvised locally, as were the primitive Registry labels) (Image)

1902 (Mudantsiang) picture postcard to Petersburg, franked with unoverprinted Russian 3k red, tied by "No.7 Polev (aya) Pocht (ovaya) Kon (tora) Priamur (ski) Okr (ug)" 3.4.02 (7th Field Post Office Priamur District), repeated alongside, fine and incredibly rare, actually the discovery example of the FPO 7 postmark (located in what was then just a village of Mudantsiang, today Mudanjiang, a large city about 70 miles west of the Chinese-Russian border. The area was first settled after the completion of the Chinese Eastern Railway in 1903, when a considerable Russian colony was established) (Image)
