1914 (Dec 7) 1d Postcard probably from S.S "Orvieto" with very scarce fancy framed "PASSED", and a stampless card with unframed "PASSED" and 1d charge mark and postage due stamp written on S.S "Hororata", both with "ENG. MAIL T.P.O / VIC" c.d.s. Two unusual cards from the first A.I.F Convoy to Egypt. (2).

1914-18 Covers and cards posted on transport ships, one posted at Canal Zone franked 5c, three franked Australia 1d or 2d cancelled at Colombo (2) or Durban, the others all stampless, various A.I.F censors (some apparently unrecorded), four with postage due marks (one charged 1d), datestamps include A.I. Forces Postage Free c.d.s (4), Cape Town (7), Egypt (3), Aden (2), Bombay Paquebot, etc., one with circular "A.I.F / POSTAGE / FREE". 1915-18 Postcards and covers posted on transport ships, two franked Australia 1d cancelled by Colombo c.d.s or A.I.F Censor No. 17, one with "A.I.F PASSED CENSOR 16" used on the "Star of India", the others with "A.I.F / Passed by Censor No. .....", "A.I.F / PASSED BY CENSOR ....", or "PASSED BY CENSOR" all with the number of the transport ship in manuscript after the cachet, comprising numbers 15 (2), 17, 18, 24, 29, 34 (3), 35, 37 (2), 40 (4), 43, 50, 60 (2), 67 (2), 68 (2), 70 and 75. Postmarks include Aden, Colombo, London, Fremantle (2), Durban, Cape Town (3), Egypt (4), and A.I.F Forces Postage Free c.d.s (2) or machine of Melbourne, also two cards of ships. A good lot. (30). 1916 Stampless postcards written on S.S "Benalla" with violet A.I.F / Passed by Censor No.." all numbered "24", posted upon arrival at Lark Hill Camp (July 10), also a card of the ship, unusual. (4).

1911 (Sep 11) First UK Aerial Post, green card flown from London to Windsor, franked KEVII ½d + KGV ½d with the London Aerial Post c.d.s code "1", addressed to Australia, minor edge faults at upper right corner, otherwise fine.

1911 Real Photo picture postcard of children around an aeroplane, reverse inscribed "National School children at object lesson at Geelong 21.2.11", also postcards of a Bristol biplane and Harry Hawker. On 20th February 1911 J.J Hammond made the first cross country flight in Australia in his Bristol Boxkite, flying the 40 miles from Altona Bay to Geelong in 55 minutes. (3).

1914 (June) "Australia's First Aerial Mail, Melbourne to Sydney" coloured picture postcard depicting the aviator Wizard Stone and organiser P.V Ryan, addressed to Sydney franked 1d, not posted. The flight was abandoned when the aircraft crashed prior to the flight; the special cards (sold for 1/- each) were not posted or were despatched by rail. E.2a, $350.

1914 (July 16-18) Melbourne to Sydney "Official Souvenir Australia's Aerial Mail" postcard depicting the aviator Maurice Guillaux, with ½d Kangaroo pair each tied by the oval Aerial Mail datestamp in violet, Sydney arrival c.d.s, numbered "1414", corner creases. Also a cover to the French Consulate in Sydney with five Australia or Victoria stamps all cancelled by forged Aerial Mail datestamps. E.3, 4b, $1,100. (2).

1917 (Feb 15-27) Mount Gambier to Melbourne flight by Basil Watson, unused "Official Souvenir, Australian Aerial Mail" postcards depicting the aviator, one flown from Casterton to Melbourne with two ½d stamps cancelled by the oval Aerial Mail datestamp, a Casterton c.d.s (Fe 20) at lower left, the other card unused. The flown card with creasing and tears, the unused card fine. E.13, 14a, $850. (2).

1919 (Aug 6) Adelaide to Minlaton flight by Harry Butler, special postcards depicting the plane in flight and Butler on reverse all franked 1½d cancelled upon arrival at Minlaton, one card numbered "419" with printed message, unnumbered cards with handwritten message or typed advert for the Sunshine Harvester, also another unnumbered card with handwritten message carried on the return flight and cancelled at Adelaide, all with some creasing or edge faults. E.20/a, 22a, $2,400. (4).

1919 (Aug 6) Harry Butler flight postcard, the reverse with a printed advert for Unley Aviation Day at the Unley Oval on 23rd August, unused, fine and scarce. E.21e, $650.

Harry Butler. 1920 (Mar 16) Letter written and signed by Butler, regarding the colour of Ross Smith's Vickers Vimy aeroplane, on printed notepaper of Harry J. Butler & Kauper Aviation Co. Ltd with a printed monoplane. Also a 1919 (Dec 23) certificate signed by Butler stating Mr N.H Pearse had an aerial flight with Butler, real Photo of Butler and his crew in front of their aircraft "Red Devil" in 1919, and three Liberty Loan labels. 1920 (Aug 27) Serpentine to Melbourne Aerial Derby to advertise the second Peace Loan, cover to Rochester endorsed "For Peace Loan Aerial Mail" with 1½d cancelled upon arrival at Melbourne, handstamped violet boxed "CARRIED BY SECOND PEACE / LOAN AERIAL MAIL", fine and scarce. 1921 (Dec 4) Cover to Carnarvon, posted at Perth (Dec 2) franked 5d, endorsed "Per Aerial Mail", carried on Western Australian Airways first flight from Perth to Derby which was abandoned at Murchison House Station, the mails being returned to Perth and despatched on the S.S "Bamra", with "PERTH DERBY / 4 DE 21 / WA / AERIAL MAIL" skeleton datestamp.
