1929 WESTERN AUSTRALIA CENTENARY 1929 Western Australia Centenary
Sale No: 242
Lot No:351
Symbol:*
1½d Swan marginal block of 4 from the left of the sheet with light Offset affecting three units, horizontal perfs partly split & reinforced. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2014).
1½d Swan Imperforate at the Base ACSC #138b, well centred, characteristic rough perfs, a couple of small thins, Cat $20,000. One of the most desirable errors of the KGV Period Commemoratives. The ACSC states that two pairs and two singles - all from the same sheet - exist. [More attractive than Julian Sterling's example - not thinned but slightly oxidised - that sold at our auction of 30.11.2019 for $11,980]
PUNCTURED 'OS': 1½d Swan blocks of 4 with John Ash Imprint and Plate Numbers '1' to '12' ACSC 138baz to zl, mostly well centred & most either unmounted or with one or two units lightly mounted, Cat $5525+ (mounted). [We believe the punctures are genuine but we cannot guarantee it, hence the very conservative estimate. Arthur Gray's similar unexpertised set - without the imprint block - sold for $1692]
