The ACSC states that 11 proofs were presented, one of which is in the Australia Post Archives. Only five others have been accounted for. [At least two examples have had the deckling removed. POSTAL HISTORY: 1934 (Oct 18) Kingsford Smith Air Service cover to 'Smithy' in California with 3d green Type A + Victoria Centenary 2d tied by 'MASCOT/NSW' cds, plus Fiji 3d tied by 'SUVA' cds & American NRA 3c tied by 'HONOLULU' d/s, pilot-signed "CKingsfordSmith" AAMC 455, Cat $3250. Probably the finest example we have seen. [This was the first eastward crossing of the Pacific Ocean by air. The last three examples we offered sold for an average of $1515]
