Envelope posted at New York August 23rd addressed to Paris bearing the "NEW PAID YORK 21 / AUG / 23" incorrectly applied as the treaty rate of 15 cents was prepaid using 1861-63, 10¢ green + 5¢ brown. Routed through Calais on September 3rd with Paris arrival of the same day. Redirected on reverse to Picouigny arriving there on the 4th September.
