ROCKET MAIL Unique archive of material relating to the 1961 anniversary Rocket Mail flights USA-Mexico; Limited edition publication honoring the 1936 First International Rocket Flight USA - Mexico, this is No. 20 published by American Legion in McAllen, TX, 63 pages; additional quadrille pages added w/ rocket mail stamp & cover collection, incl covers E-Z #11C1, 12C1, 45C4 (2 "explosion" covers), 46C1-4 ea w/ special ovpted Mexican 50c stamp, 46C6 & 47C6 on UN aerogrammes, 67C1 and other similar, 68C2a "damaged by water"; stamps #11A1, 11A1a, 11A1b error, 11A1c Blk w/ error, 12A1, 12A1a, 46A1, 46A1a, 46A2, 46A2a, 47A1, 47A2a, 67A1; additionally there are duplicates of various covers, stamps, sheets of (4) and overprints; original correspondence about the Mexican stamp C220n (as footnoted in Scott) and articles by Roger Cichorz from 1982 (this appears to be his collection); not only are there (2) full panes of this 1961 overprinted stamp, but there is a full pane w/ doubled overprint, and a Blk w/ inverted ovpt; F-VF (Image)
