1844 VG original and attractive for the grade. The famous "Orphan Annie" dime, a name given to the low-mintage (72,500) 1844 dime by numismatist Frank Ross in a 1931 article in Hobbies magazine. In truth, the 1846 is somewhat scarcer, but the 1844 is nonetheless seldom encountered and our offering here represents a good opportunity to snag a scarce issue. (Image)
