BEER DUTY - BOTTLES: 1947 Modern Design Expressed in Volume Only CofA Watermark with Prefix 'A' 6gals, 8gals with the Watermark Inverted, 16gals & 24gals, large-part o.g., Elsmore Online Cat $240. Superb. These are the only 'denominations' recorded by Dave Elsmore.
BEER DUTY - BULK: 1920-33 No Watermark 45/6d ('HALF/HOGSHEAD') dull violet, faults, superb 'VICTORIA BREWERY/MELBOURNE/CANCELLED/14-3-23' cachet in grey-blue, Elsmore Online under-catalogued at $170. [This is the label illustrated by Dave Elsmore but significantly cropped on all sides]
BEER DUTY - BULK: 1942 Provisional Surcharge Boxed '30/-' in violet on 20/- black, fault at upper-left & a couple of minor defects, unusual '8AUG1942 - CANCELLED - 8AUG1942/QUEENSLAND BREWERY LTD' cachet in violet, Elsmore Online undercatalogued at $170. [This is the label illustrated by Dave Elsmore but significantly cropped on all sides] The illustration is above Lot 311.
BROADCAST LISTENER'S LICENCE: 1961 Card for the payment of a Broadcast Listener's or Television Viewer's Licence Fee by Postage Stamps' with Aborigine 2/6d x40 affixed inside tied by 'BURNLEY E.1/VIC-AUST' cds for payment of £5 fee, 'CANCELLED' h/s in violet on face, a couple of stamps affixed over internal fold, minor aging marks hardly affecting stamps & clipped corner at L/R. At least nine of the stamps - including the block of 8 - appear to be Whiter Paper 2/6d black-brown ACSC 266B, even though the ACSC surmises that these came from the August 1964 printing.

Rare: not previously seen by us. [Tony Blakemore stated that these were issued in northern Queensland in anticipation of Japanese invasion. Following the sale of a similar 10/- proof in our auction of 22.7.2022 for $1495, the vendor consigned the balance of the proofs held by him. For the record, in addition to the X proofs offered here, single duplicates of the 10/6d & 20/-, and of the Underprint, will be offered by us during 2023.
