Huge Collection of Squared Circle Postmarks on Cover, Card and Stamp, mostly in black stock pages filling 18 binders. We counted about 750 covers / cards, plus probably a few thousand off-paper stamps. The stamps appear to be mostly large town calendar collections (mostly sorted by town) plus other, smaller towns as well. The covers and cards are mostly from Ontario, Québec and the Maritimes, but we saw a few other provinces, and they include a little bit of everything, and we assume most postmarks will have a RF of 50 or lower. A quick look through revealed better towns like Formosa State II, Cheltenham, Powassan, Wooler, Thamesford, Newport Landing, etc., with duplication; for example, we counted about 50 St Anne's (RF50) covers and cards. The postmark usages include despatch, receiver and transit, and we saw perhaps a dozen or more covers / cards that have two different squared circle towns on the same side, many different indicia, and we noted more than a dozen registered covers, some corner cards, advertising (incl. a few illustrated), some destinations such as to England, and the stamps encountered include Small Queens (mostly), Jubilees, Leafs and Numerals, Maps, Edwards and Admirals, as well as Québec Tercentenary. A massive collection which took a lifetime to assemble, which we recommend viewing in person to better appreciate, our online photos and description cannot do justice to all that is included. Condition varies, as there are cover fronts, covers roughly opened and such, but still overall fine or better. (Image)

Collection of Manitoba Squared Circles on 38 Covers and Cards, plus a number of stamps and pieces. We note between 1 and 3 covers or cards for each of the listed towns that used squared circles, including the Souris & Winnipeg #1 and #2 hammers (both backstamps on registered covers). We noted a lovely 2c purple Numeral on a Queen's Hotel corner card cover from Morden, a purple Minnedosa on 1c GPC, Gretna strikes on a 1c Jubilee stationery card to Germany, a scarce Portage la Prairie TM "2" on 1c GPC, Morden on a nice 8c Small Queen corner card front, Morden strikes on a 1908 1c Québec Tercentenary postcard, and more. There is a mix of usages, with both despatch and receivers, and there is also good interest in small town broken circle postmarks as well. A few faults as usual, still overall fine or better for the covers and cards and the strikes range are partial to proof-like. (Image)

1916 Laurentides QUE Squared Circle on Admiral Cover to Switzerland, mailed on AUG.12 (no year slug in squared circle free strike) to Berne Switzerland, with partial 1916 receiver on back, franked with a 1c and 2c Admiral, as well as a 2c + 1c War Tax Admiral. The manual records only 3 strikes in Period 3 (from 1911 to 1920) and so this would be a 4th report. A very fine cover, with a small part of the back flap missing, a "must have" for the serious squared circle collector. (Image)
