An exceptional practically complete run of bound catalogues for the London auctions of one of the most famous auction companies, especially so in reference to China, Great Britain and British Empire. Among the famous China sales are numerous Sir Percival and Lady David (three lesser sales missing) with the key specialised catalogues, C.F. Gordon, and Godfrey Mellor. Other significant non-China catalogues include Hong Kong with the Wellsted covers, Levy Japan, Wood Malaya, Dawson India and States, and the Piccus India.
There are also some loose catalogues, including Robson Lowe Basel auctions with the Sir Percival David China early essays and proofs (26 October 1970) and Foreign Post Offices in China (10 March 1970, 22 March 1974 and 16 October 1974), as well a few important auctions of other companies.
Bound in sixteen volumes, of which 11 volumes are in brown leather (one volume slightly split) and 5 volumes in blue cloth. Very fine and a fantastic addition to any reference library. Estimate 6,000 - 8,000 Est. HK$6,000-8,000 (Image1)
