Cat No:O125w
2d deep golden scarlet overprinted 'OS' with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 102C(OS)a (SG O125w), well centred, Wodonga (Vic) cds, Scott Starling Certificate (2018). Cat $500. The ACSC (2022) states that "Watermark Inverted is scarce ... However, a recent discovery of [an unspecified number of] used stamps has considerably reduced the rarity in used condition" and reduced the catalogue value from $4000 to $500, which appears to be extreme: an example with cds cancel sold at our auction of 16.5.2023 for $1680.
3d blue Type A with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 107Aa (SG 100aw), clearly dated '[NOR]THBRIDGE/ -3JY28/NSW' cds, horizontal crease that does not detract from the fine facial appearance, Cat $7500 (£3250). The ACSC states "probably only about half a dozen used examples are recorded"]
1/4d greenish blue with Thick '1' at Right [Pos 1R57] ACSC 130n marginal single from the base of the sheet, ink notation in the margin, small hinge remainder, Cat $650.
PUNCTURED 'OS': ½d orange ACSC 68ba (SG O97) horizontal pair the right-hand unit Die 1a (Colour between Oval and Left Edge of Right Wattles) ACSC 68(8)d plus KGV 2d red Die II tied by Sydney machine cancel of 11DEC/1930 to Government Railways window-face envelope with 'ESTATE AGENT/FOR RAILWAYS' oval dated cachet at upper-left, a few blemishes & edge faults not affecting the stamps which are very fine. A scarce se-tenant pair, espcially used on cover. (Image1)
