PROPAGANDA LABELS: 1951 Healthy India stamp-size hand-painted essays on thin art paper for a 1a in deep carmine, 4a in brown-orange & 1r in bright blue, each affixed to a small piece of thin card & endorsed "31-1-51" at upper-left, the first two additionally endorsed "HC has approved". Truly "art in miniature". (3 essays)
POSTAL HISTORY: Carton of mostly commercial mail from prestamp period to 1970s with strength in 1890s to WWII, lots of postmark interest including TPOs, Experimental POs & Military types, pickings galore including States, Burma, Nepal, registered insured & official mail, a few Gandhi frankings, etc, condition rather mixed but better than many Indian cover lots; also 1921 illustrated menu for Visit of the Prince of Wales to Jodhpur.
