1909 Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition: Award Medal in bronze, 76 mm, 180gms. Inscribed SILVER MEDAL. The obverse shows a seated female figure with olive branch in one hand and a plaque of George Washington in the other. She is flanked by two prospectors or pioneers, as well as an Indian in a canoe. The text at the edge reads: "Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition 1909 Seattle 1909". The reverse has an ornate floral wreath with a blank inscription plaque and "Silver Medal" above. Made by the Gorham Company, Providence Rhode Island; signed by Franz Zeigler. Superb condition, in original box of issue by Albert Hansen of Seattle. (Image)
