Group of 24 Interesting Cards and Covers, with 9 covers and 15 picture postcards. The covers range from Small Queens to Centennials, with a 1896 9c SQ registered cover High River Alta to Toronto (with RPO and squared circle on back), 1899 registered cover Lacombe Alta to Toronto, 1929 5c + 10c Admirals on registered cover Bawlf, Alta to Germany, 1967 25c Centenial cover to Katanga, Congo and 5 Admiral registered cross-border covers. The picture postcards are mostly QV Numerals (x4) Edward VII (x5), Admiral (x3) and a few more, with destinations such as Belgium, Switzerland, England, France, Austria, Turkey and the Netherlands, posted from towns such as Evarts, Alta. (1906), Walsh, Alta. (1908), Fernie BC (1904), etc. Faults as usual for a lot like this, but a good, useful group, especially the early picture postcards. (Image)

Accumulation of Roughly 1,000 Canadian Covers, 1899-1980s, filling a bankers box, with the majority of covers ranging from the 1930s to the 1960s. The lot has a wide variety of interesting material including a cover front from Hamilton, with a Hamilton C.W duplex (the same type used on the MAR.16.1870 example of the 2c Large Queen on laid paper), dated MAY.3.1870 to Chatham, Ontario, franked with 1c and 2c Large Queen stamps (roughly two months after a 2c Large Queen stamp on laid paper was used at the Hamilton post office), along with advertising mail (many are illustrated), postal stationery, postcards, first day covers (including a few private cachets from 1937 onward), foreign stamps used in Canada, V.E. day covers, A.R. cards, etc, along with a variety of postmarks, noting broken circle, c.d.s., flag, and duplex. We note a variety of rates including airmail with destinations to Europe and West Indies to name a few, registration, special delivery, postage due, etc. From an estate who collected interesting and unusual material. Group of 68 Federal Government-Related Postal History, 1920s to 1960s, noting OHMS covers, House of Commons correspondence (with many interesting letters inside), 7 covers are franked with G or OHMS overprinted stamps, one has a 4-hole OHMS perfin, many covers are free franked, with government handstamps for the franking privilege, along with many MP and MPP handstamps and signatures, with mail to or from Gordon Sinclair, Stanley Knowles, and many more. We also note good postmark interest, with green House of Commons machines, House of Commons FREE "keyhole" type c.d.s., etc. Overall fine to very fine, with the odd fault associated with #10 size envelopes, quite interesting. Group of Interesting Early Covers, 1871 to 1908, earliest is an 1871 stampless cover mailed at Warsaw U.C to Toronto (reduced at right); an 1899 cover mailed from Toronto (flag cancel) to Germany, franked with a 5c QV Leaf issue (small opening tears at top); an 1899 registered cover mailed from Halifax (Emily King corner card) to Cleveland, Ohio and franked with a 6c and two ½c QV Numerals paying the 7c rate; a 1908 cover mailed from St Germain de Grantham, QC to Germany, franked with a single 5c blue Québec Tercentenary, with "Imperial Post Office" re-sealing tape on three sides. Also 10 Small Queen covers (with various faults, most 3c but includes two 6c mailed in 1873, one to US and one to UK), two covers franked with Québec Tercentenary issues (one to France, one to Switzerland), a DEC.10.1898 8c Numeral registered cover (mailed in the short 2 month period before the rate changed, with Montréal squared circle precursors on back), and last but not least are three Numeral issue illustrated advertising covers including a lovely colour one depicting a lady doing her laundry with some "Surprise Soap".
