Confederacy, 1862, 5¢ blue, Archer & Daly printing, "White Tie" Variety. In pair with normal, affixed over another pair of 5¢ local print and tied by incomplete "Chattanooga, Ten." cds, paying forwarding postage to Winchester, Ten. on a cover first mailed to Chattanooga with "Richmond, Va." cds tying original pair; manuscript "From G.W. Jones M.C." and "Forwarded by H.L. Claiborne, Feb 23. 1863"; sealed opening tear at top and most of flap missing, otherwise Very Fine. Scott No. 7  Estimate $200 - 300. George Washington Jonas was a U.S. and later a C.S.A. congressman from Tennessee. After the war he was pardoned by his friend and former political ally, President Andrew Johnson. $0 (Image)
