Lot of Mint Inscription Plate Blocks, from 1939 to 2000s, consisting of approximately 260 plate blocks, housed in glassines. We noted some matched sets, as well as several high values up to $5, with no obvious duplication. The owner's inventory (included with the lot) indicates a catalogue value of $1,500 with a face value of $400. Also included is a lot of about 200 plate blocks from the Caricature definitive issues with duplication up to 25 of each for some, as well as approximately 200 precancelled plate blocks from the Caricature definitive issues (mostly the 1c denomination). Very fine, unchecked for varieties in paper, tagging and fluorescence. (Image)

Lot appears quite complete for the period with no obvious duplication. Also included is a "Picture Postage" sheet (PP9 Cat. value $75), 3 annual collections (1978-1980), 6 thematic collections (1970s-1980s).
