AIR FRANCE COVERS, 1935-36 INC. CRASH MAIL & SPECIAL CACHETS: Group on display pages, inc. cover from Valparaiso to London recovered from the Latecoere 28 F-AJIQ which crashed into the sea off Bahia, Brazil on 3 Nov. 1934 with the loss of all 4 crew. Stamps washed off and accompanied by OHMS ambulance cover with appropriate typed insert. Various other covers to France, Germany, Switzerland, England, etc. carried on the Santiago - Buenos Aires - Rio de Janeiro - Natal - Dakar route inc. internal/external Air Stamp combinations. 'Jusqu'a' marks and special cachets noted inc. 21 Jan. 1936 cover from Santiago to London with special 5-line Air France cachet in violet. Lot includes pair of printed Air France first flight covers from Paris to Chile marking the inauguration of the first regular 'All-Air' service to S. America.
