1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos Second Watermark 6d ultramarine SG 88 Plate 2 large-part forme of 29/30 from an unidentified position with Hollow Stops on units [6, 12 & 18], overall light gum-aging, most units including four abc strips are unmounted, Cat £290++ for mounted singles
1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos Second Watermark 6d ultramarine SG 88 Plate 2 complete forme of 30 from an unidentified position with unlisted Break in Inner Frame to R of Cape York [2] and early state of Oil Tanker off Darwin [26] plus Hollow Stops on units [6, 12,16, 18, 20 & 27], overall light gum-aging/toning, the upper units are lightly mounted, the lower units are unmounted, Cat £300++ for mounted singles. 1918-22 Fifth Setting on Kangaroos 6d dull ultramarine Die IIB SG 110b with the Frame Break above & between 'ST' of 'AUSTRALIA' (largely inked-over as is often the case), the Rounded Corner at U/R & Break at the Junction of the Inner Framelines at U/R, lightly mounted, Cat £750+ for used; unpriced mint. POSTAL HISTORY: 1915 (Dec 12) Hambly cover to Melbourne with unoverprinted 2½d tied by a part-strike of the rare defaced Friedrich-Wilhelmshafen seal & 'MADANG' cds alongside, 'PASSED-BY-CENSOR' h/s in violet at U/L, vertical fold & minor soiling.
