Philatelic Literature

Philatelic Literature
Lot Symbol Lot Description CV or Estimate
133 "Deutschland erwacht; Werden, Kampf und Sieg der NSDAP", original Third Reich book containing dozens of period photos; at the time this book was published in 1933, it was the first very high quality publishing effort of the Nazi Party in the wake of their election victories earlier in 1933 and after Hitler was appointed Germany's 23rd Chancellor; 10x12½ inch, 152-page illustrated hard cover book being a very good example of "Deutschland Erwacht" (Germany Awakened) published for the NSDAP in Germany by Cigaretten Bildendienst of Altona-Bahrenfeld; it is from the edition of "401-500 Tausend"; a bit disturbing but fascinating 75

SOLD for $75.00
Will close during Public Auction before Oct-20, 01:55 PM
134 "Adolf Hitler: Bilder aus dem leben des Fuhrers", over-sized hardback book (no dust jacket) published in 1936 by Herausgegeben Vom Cigaretten (German cigarette company); illustrated with 200 (mostly of Hitler in various situations) vintage black and white very high-quality halftone prints with white borders varnished in such a way that they look very much like actual black and white glossy photos pasted in spaces left in the German text, plus a 9x12 color litho of Der Furher introduction by Herman Goring and foreword by Joseph Goebbels; slightly used with binding and pages intact, from the "101-200 Tausend" printing, an interesting glimpse into the supposed popularity of Adolf Hitler by the German people when he was coming into power 75
