UNITED STATES POSSESSIONS - HAWAII
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
3217 OGO   imageHAWAIIAN CLASSICS an accumulation of mostly all reference copies with the ‘wow’ factor, representing years of stripping down collections, including worldwide as well as specialised Hawaii. Here is one volume, beginning with the missionaries of 1851/52, as well as a group of 1853 King Kamehameha III/ IV issues and above all an outstanding range of  about 190 or so of the 1859/62/65 imperforate numeral types, both unused and used including multiples. the missionaries reference copies with values as for for authemtic, there are 5x #1 ($250,000 each), 4x #2 ($32,500 each), 5x #3 ($28,000 each), 2x #4 ($35,000 each) i.e. 16 examples in mixed condition,. We have valued these as reference, there is still a minute chance of a genuine copy which shoulb examined by the experts - a disparity of opinion on one of the stamps exists! Equally intriguing is the numerals, they have distinct possibilities here with genuine present. There are all types i.e.A7, A8 and A9 and A10 with roughly a third, i.e. 60 or so examples used, including red and black cancels, double oval concentric town cancels, etc again in all grades of condition. It is rich with potential. Dealers and collectors of this area do not miss out on this opportunity to research and categorise an original and very challenging holding. All in all 200+++ stamps, deserving an unhurried viewing and a great group for reference for the advanced student. Offered as is. (see on-line scans)
