Nov 1 1883", minor edge wear, Fine, a very unusual and possibly unique use.

2152 c   imageWells Fargo & Co's Express, brown printed Hawaiian frank on envelope with two purple double oval strikes of "G.W. McFarlane & Co./ Honolulu H.I." June 30 1885 which tie #39 to entire (blue insides; Gregory #AUXFWDR-McFAR; rarity 1RRRR), also MH & Davey #656 - the local Hawaiian agent for Wells Fargo and therefore authorized to cancel the Hawaiian franking(stamp) as such, apparently part of paste-up, carried to San Francisco on the "Oceanic S.S. Co." ship "Alameda" Jul 1 1885, additional Wells Fargo "San Francisco Jul 9 1885" incoming oval at bottom, stains at bottom of envelope, one of the rarest uses of the Wells Fargo franked entires with a Hawaiian forwarder.
