4863 c   KARELIA POSTAL HISTORY GROUP.A most unusual range of the Finnish occupation of this area during 1941, over 80 covers housed in a stuffed to capacity volume, delightfully philatelic, often with the high values to 10m/25m, occasionally to different addresses in Helsinki. As importantly further Karelia overprints of different types of the Mannerheim commemorative issues, again seemingly complete with the distinct possibility of various types. This holding is probably best destined for a dealer as there is considerable duplication, be it all with each cover making an individual item on its own right on Ebay etc. An opportunity seldom available to obtain stock of these elusive Karelia issues on cover.

4878 c   FRANCE STAMPLESS COVERS ADVANCED COLLECTION.You never know what&rsquo,s going to walk in through the door, at the last moment a superb collection of French pre-philatelic has been given to us with quality and diversity being the hallmarks, virtually throughout, housed in 4 substantial albums. There are approaching 500 covers from places such as Bourgoin, Clamart, Septeuil, Riberac, Cremieu to name but a few, some are sent abroad, ie to Moscow, some come in from abroad, ie Italy, Belgium etc. There are also colored strikes, blues, greens, reds, unusual strikes "B.3.R." various penny in oval strikes, "P" in circle strikes, script straight cancels and above all, a large number of different manuscript markings , including manuscript markings revised for different postal rates, as well as various postmark rate strikes. Also this collector incorporated various correspondence into this collection such as Bertoche family and the Labertoche family, as well as fascinating 18th century Citoyen correspondences particularly to the Mayor of the National Guard, the  ,d&rsquo,Arneville correspondence with lots of straight lines from places such as Versailles, Fromenteau, Angouleme, Nantes etc. Some of these items even go back to 1785. , No time has been spent whatsoever on the contents, no doubt this will also have much interest to the French linguist. A lovely original collection offered intact as received. The quality is so good and there is much to be said for this collection overall, as postal history and primary sources, we have valued this at under $3 each across the board. Most covers here when finally researched will be worth multiples of that. An opportunity for the specialist. 1,200-1,500
