Please study the photplate to get a flavor of this holding, clearly formed many decades ago, representing a work in progress for a  ,lifetime&rsquo,s collecting of Brazil by an old timer. An opportunity with plenty of non-Scott listed material to buy one of philately&rsquo,s most popular countries today, this could easily break up into several dozens lots or form the basis of a very good specialised collection of Brazil. 5613 ogO   CHINA DIVERSE COLLECTION.

A most interesting ,accumulation with 1000s of stamps, mint and used, well filled in 2 volumes, covering virtually all areas of China here, starting from the first Dragons onwards, the 19th century however is not in such good condition as the 20th. Nevertheless this is an extraordinary lot representing many years &ndash, including the years when China was not so hot &ndash, of stripping down from worldwide collections, mixed lots, boxes etc, from auctions as well as privately. , It is an enormous "work lot", as much of the presentation is completely out of chronological order. However some of the highlights seen include the wide margins on the large dragons 3 candarins with blue chop cancel (left hand lower corner removed), side by side to an extremely well centered, again the best type the wide margins 5 candarins this time with black chop cancel in need of soaking with minor thins and perforations problems at the bottom, still a very good looking scarce stamp. Also seen a large range of "Chinese Imperial Post" dragons including o/ps of different types, through to the regular early 20th century defins, followed by an extensive study of the martyr types with literally 100s of these issues, all one of a kind with many o/ps here to research. There is also a substantial showing of Peoples Republic of China, including primitives through to the Republic of China, the former requiring further investigation of the different types reprints and originals, of the late 1940s and early 1950s issues, through to better Mao later commems. Similarly with China/Taiwan with better artifact  ,and other series, virtually all one of a kind to re-present, for as mentioned plenty of stamps are "out of order". There is much more here than this outline description with many discoveries to make. Please study carefully, this very interesting holding deserves an unrushed viewing to appreciate the huge potential here.

The collection begins with no less than 33 of the first coat of arms issues 1859/1860, an impressive showing with almost all having four margins, including type 1 of the 2 1/2cts #1 with four distinct shades, two of which are mint and one unused, signed, with the used green shade also signed and with attractive blue cancel. Then the 5cts blue with red postmark and wide margins, signed (#2), the 5cts violet with four different shades used with the best shade attractive four margins and again signed (#3), several 10cts shades including the buff shade mint, signed twice (#4a), the 20cts with pale ultramarine shade used (#6d) with "Cali." straight line cancel, etc, through to the 1 peso carmine (#7) mint (corner fault seen from back mentioned for accuracy&rsquo,s sake only) and used plus the 1 peso rose unused with huge margins (#7a). Then the type 2 issues with similar detail including 5cts shades mint through to 20cts blue superb used (#12), followed by the 1861 United States of New Granada issues with all denominations (#13/18) used inc. 1p pink x2 with one on piece, then United States of Colombia with an impressive page of first issues such as the 1862 10cts blue x2 with one on piece (#19), 50cts green and 1p red lilac with pen cancels (#21/22), through to 1864 1p red violet used (#34) etc. Highlights continue with 1866 5p black on green and 10p black on vermilion with two used examples each (#51/52), 1868 5cts orange used x2 (#53), 1870 5p and 10p high values again with two each used (#64/65), 1888 1 peso claret (#137) with muestra handstamp, on to back of the book with registration stamps inc. 1865 5cts black wreath mint (#F2) and 1881 10cts violet (#F7) with large red boxed "registrada Panama" datestamp, as well as first postage dues 1866 25cts black on blue and 50cts black on yellow used, both signed (#J1/J2), etc. On a brief inspection of the 19th century Departments we note Antioquia 1885 5cts liberty on laid paper used (#38a), Bolivar from 1866 10cts red (#2) onwards including the 10cts violets of 1877 (#10), then 1879 (#12) and 1880 (#26) each bisected on cover front and other bisects on piece,  ,scarce Cauca 5cts red local used, illustrated but not listed in Scott, Cundinamarca inc. 1883 1p provisional mint (#15) and other interesting provisionals used accompanied by signatures, as well as Santander, Tolima with colorful rainbow remit labels, etc, even some Panama with classics of 1878 to 50cts inc. 5cts, 10cts and 20cts on thin wove paper mint (#1/3).
