5125 c   imageAgua de Dios, Colombia,June 30 ,1937 postmark ties 5c stamp to envelope sent from the Leprosy settlement at Agua de Dios, located South of Bogota, near the village of Tocaima. , Sent to California, franked with a single 5 centavos stamp, cancelled AGUA DE DIOS (INT). , Sent via Girardoticuni and Buenaventura. , Handstamped with one of three known examples of Type A.d.D.2 marking: CIENTIFICAMENTE DESINFECTADO on reverse that was applied after disinfection by steam sterilization in an autoclave. Only three covers recorded with this cachet, the other two have a single vertical scissor slit at the top, which this cover does not, and this is the latest known use. , Very rare and Very Fine. , (Image 1) 500-750

5126 c   imageColombia Two Disinfected Covers,1942 & 1943, Two envelopes sent from the Leprosy Settlement at Agua de Dios, located southwest of Bogota, near the village of Tocaima in Cundinamarca Department. Both were sent to California during World War II, and were censored in the U.S. The 1943 cover at top is handstamped with a Type A.d..D.4.1 Desinfectado marking, measuring 62 x 8 mm that was applied after disinfection by steam sterilization in an autoclave. The lower cover of 1942 has a similar Desinfectado marking, but only measures 55 x 7mm, and is unrecorded in this size. Very rare pair, Fine. , (Image 1) 500-750
