A very good collection housed in a green Oppens postage stamp album in surprisingly good condition, mint and used with the vast majority stuck down. There are many 100s of stamps, with the distinct probability of a few popping up upon application making good individual items and the rest needing careful application. The album is completely unpicked. Better countries include Western Australia, with 4d blue cut to shape, an imperf 6d, various earlier perforated issues through also to 6d and later swans to 1/-, Victoria State from the half throne issues onwards with reasonable examples of 2d and 3d, followed by an unusual rouletted 6d, also Queensland with Chalons head with a probable imperf 1/- ,four ,margined and quite scarce as such among a dozen Chalon head issues followed by the later side profiles etc. Then NZ with Chalon heads to 1/-, as well as perforated revenues to 10/-, St Vincent particularly interesting with issues to 1/-, similarly with the 6d green with 2 different examples, etc, etc, also good Antigua with different types of the 6d green, British Guyana from 2cts imperf to various early ships, Brazil with both goat and rattlesnake eyes various values to 300 reis, USA from imperfs onwards but not particularly impressive compared to other countries, better Canada and Newfoundland with in excess of a dozen 'large heads', papers and wmks  ,to investigate, etc. Good Madeira with values to 100reis imperf etc, 5 Cape of Good Hope triangulars, Portuguese India, a few Macau early diagonal o/ps, Hong Kong with treaty ports, good imperf India inc 4x 1anna red various shades as well as 2 half anna blues and two attractive cut to shape 4 annas with light cancels, China locals with Chefoo, Hankow, Chinking with 1cts with very scarce small 'C' juxtaposed against another one with large 'C' etc. GB from imperfs onwards inc high value QV 2/6d and much more. This description at best only being an outline, condition far better overall than normally encountered for collections of this type, a great lot.
The Geneva album of facsimilies, although battered and broken up, there is nevertheless much intact with several hundred items in this volume, not including the postmarks and examples of surcharges also present, etc. Apart from Fournier's work on the stamps, there is a section of proofs again by Fournier, especially Luxembourg classics. There are also many color trials such as in Spain, se-tenant strips of Brazil back of the book, interesting multiples including Monaco first issues, Mexico, Portuguese Colonies, even postal stationery seen of Hungary Franz Josefs, etc. Interestingly there is an accompanying approval order-form page from Fournier's workshop also advertising his 'philatelic clinic' for repairing, reperfing or altering colors of stamps! A conservative estimate, especially compared with the valuations normally associated with the complete volume, of which this is a substantial portion.
A fascinating range of material, mint and used, virtually all classics. The first part housed in a green 'Oppens Postage Stamp Album' abridged edtion, the other in a brown 'Oppens postage stamp album' (four continents) with gold leaf &ndash, both clearly are crusty-dusty, somewhat weary for age. The gold leaf album has Great Britain with penny red, 2d blue, QV revenues to 10/-, 4d surface printed on blue paper with small garter wmk (a scarce stamp) through to a range 1887s, etc. Other areas inc France from Ceres heads onwards, Austria from imperf newspapers, about a dozen or so ,19th ,century revenues, a few China imperial post dragons, US Newfoundland, Cape of Good Hope with 'beat up' 6d triangle, etc, etc. The green album with imperf Romania needing to be soaked off, as is the case with most of this collection, further fascinating GB revenues and non-Scott listed, similarly with Germany ,19th ,century seals, Hungary from Franz Josef types re-engraved printings, Italy, Spain from imperf inc fancy cancels, Sweden inc first ore issue 24 ore, as well as better shade on 12 ore pale blue, classic Turkey inc star and crescent Ottoman Empire pmks and BOB, Hong Kong QV inc 16cts o/ps on 18cts, treaty port cancels as well as further Japan, Sudan and Egypt, French Colonies imperfs to 80cts, etc, etc. Please note that there is huge potential here with much more to be discovered and the albums are completely uncatalogued. The condition of course is extremely mixed, often collected the traditional way completely stuck down with glue!
