A fabulous collection with virtually all the strength in the classics, mint and used, housed on very old fashioned quadrille Merton album pages in one battered old album. There are, often in reconstructed sheet format, the 1871/73 tigers with well over 100 examples. Starting off with plate A with 6 of them (all reconstructions are done according to 'Collins and Calmans' literature), then plate B, which has not only the shani but also the sarna denominations, followed by then plate C, this time with abasi denomination with every one reconstructed, as well as a similar pattern on plate D, the 1872/73 tigers with more than half of the sheets reconstructed. It should be noted that not only are there manuscript cancels, but also postmarks (as well of course the traditional way of taking part of the stamp to express its usage). Many of these tigers are on piece, with possibly the most spectacular item being a large front with no less than 7 different examples, of which the collector has painstakingly allocated to positions 37, 13 on the top row, 33, 12, 31, 11 and 36 on the bottom row, of impressive appearance. Further tigers of 1872 with a complete reconstructed sheet of 15, followed by another one, again with the spectrum of cancels including colored, etc. Also seen the rupee and abasi mint cut square examples. Then follows a similar pattern of 1875/76 types, again with all 3 denominations, which like its predecessor again with well over 100 examples, in reconstructed sheets including some stunning mint multiples in blocks of 4 and 6! The album leaves also have literature interspersed in the relevant pages, some of which clearly is very old and will no doubt be of interest to anyone studying this field. The collection further unfolds with more imperforates through to the Kingdom of Afghanistan 1892/93 types etc. Accompanying all these imperforates and various plates are 100++ imperforates of the 1870 types through to the 1890s again, mint and used, different types of papers, a &lsquo, work in progress&rsquo, that this collector never got round to putting into the main body of his collection. This too is very interesting as there are many multiples , present. In sum, an extraordinary collection including useful collateral. The likes of this collection are hardly ever available today, having been formed before 1940! An opportunity for the specialist, please view a few of the photoplates to get a flavor of what is here. A fascinating collection of 100s of stamps, housed in a Lindner album, starting off with 1876 tiger heads with 14 , examples, all used in mixed condition, organised by plate number. Then follows late 1870s through to 1880s from #98 through to #145, leading to 1891 complete, followed by 1892s from #180 onwards with 16 examples including different shades not listed in Scott, then 1894 with #190, leading to a good range of 1898s. The ,20th ,century section has highlights with 1907s with #196a and #198, then 1909s to 1919s from 1ab through to 1rup, followed by a very impressive selection of 'Royal Stars' with 12 examples, mint and used with some on piece, leading on to 1927 Tughra and crest of Armanullah (again good type), followed by #228 and #232 in unlisted color var., then 1928s perf and imperf including Revolutionary Government in Kabul handstamp o/ps, mentioned in Scott yet without price. The rest of the collection is a well formed ,20th ,century collection with many complete series, further color variations, even currency and collateral etc.  ,The back of the book including 1909 'coat of arms' parcel posts, perf and imperf, with 15 examples of the 1909 official stamps 13 of which with revolutionary overprints (again not listed in Scott). Much more here than described, viewing recommended.
Many hundreds of stamps from the double-headed eagle overprints of 1913 onwards, on a combination of stockpages and quadrille leaves with a detailed write-up, all housed on a binder. The collection begins with more than a dozen dangerous forgeries of the eagle overprints on genuine Turkish stamps, then the large 'commission de controle provisoire - Korca' eagle types with apparently genuine 10 para on brown mint with gum, followed by an extensive study of the 'grosh' eagles with simulated perfs and the Koritza 'cents' eagles, with each denomination beginning with genuine for comparison, then examining each forgery type with research written up accordingly. These include much in multiple format, especially full panes of ten, etc. Other areas of the collection cover interesting unissued types, the dove over globe issues with many genuine, the overprints on airmails again with genuine and forgeries identified by variety types, the 'Takse' handstamps on the surcharges on Gjerji Kastrioti issues, etc, etc. Huge potential for further research among the more than 1000 stamps here, formed with a good eye for detail and accompanying research.
