Collection of British Commonwealth in one substantial volume, came in through the door just as we were going to press. Mint and used, with many 100s of stamps, inc better sections of Australia, British West Indies, Ceylon, Gibraltar, HK and Far East, etc, mint and used, many discoveries likely especially in the classics. Aden dhows to 2rs mint, Oz &lsquo,roos to 1/-, various KGVI inc high vales, mint cattlemen to 5/- nh, the waratah mint to 3/- complete nh in 2/5d blue wren, 6d 'OS' o/p kingsford smith, QEII £, Bahamas Columbus flagship mint £, x4, Barbados from tridents onwards, silv jub, Bermuda QV to 1/- CC wmk mint, as well as KGVI 10/- mint key plate, BAT and South Georgia £, vals, BCA o/ps, Brunei early to $1, Burma KGV 5rs as well as KGVI 10rs mint 2 series, followed lots of interesting Canada from QV to KGVI, Ceylon pence imperf and perf, QV large high values mint both types 1rp 12 cts mint 2rp 50cts, as well as 1rp 50cts and 2rp 25cts through to KGV, lots of good Fiji early types inc 'VR' o/ps, Gibraltar EDVII and KGV long types definitives, Hong Kong inc silver Jub, high values KGVI, various QEII through to back of the book, QV 'DP' o/ps, followed by QV India with ,1/2 anna and 1 anna imperf, 4 annas cut to shape, lots of other good India inc Ghandi with 10rs mint, lots more inc Native States, Straits Settlements, Malaya Kelantan to $. good Jap Occ and much more, all the way through filling up a 64 page stockbook. Condition as to be expected is somewhat mixed, especially on the classics, nevertheless an outstanding range of material. It is very diverse, completely uncatalogued and will break down very well for a dealer.
Mint and used collection on quadrille pages with several hundred stamps virtually all one of a kind, including Rhodesia with a good range of 19th century to shilling values organised by die, through to double portraits to the 1/- inc. 2 1/2d ultra perf 15 superb used, Victoria Falls 5/- purple used, etc, followed by Southern Rhodesia with 1953 series complete used to £,1 black and red, Rhodesia and Nyasaland 1954s and 1959s complete used to £,1, etc. Then Papua from the Lakatois onwards inc. useful New Guinea mint and used, Papua and New Guinea first series complete used to £,1 spear fisher, etc, leading on to Pitcairns with 1948 silver wedding complete mint, 1949 UPU complete mint and used, etc, etc. Please inspect as sleepers will be abundantly present, especially among the Rhodesia double portraits and Admiral heads unidentified for types.
Three albums, a mint and used collection in a pre-1940 edition Ideal album with issues from 1840 onwards, as well as , two substantial later Ideal albums specifically for the KGVI issues, continuing on from the first album for the 19th century onwards/1939. There are many hundreds of stamps here and no hinge remainders as far as we can see, with better including GB including penny black with four margins, 1/- green embossed, 1887 jubilees complete, 1924 and 1925 Wembleys used etc. and the KGVI with lots of bread and butter series such as 1948 silver weddings including GB £,1 mint etc. Also Newfoundland 1937 coronation complete mint sets, useful Canada in general, Ireland 1948/49 airposts complete mint, etc, etc. Three impressive albums with plenty of high values, completely uncataloged, offered intact as received.
Somewhat chaotic yet interesting collection, mint and used, housed on old fashioned quadrille album leaves with very little if anything post 1935. There are several 100s stamps here, virtually all one of a kind with much of the strength here in the ,19th ,century! Highlights include Mauritius from tridents through QV with pence and shilling values, as well as regular cents new currency denomination o/ps, mint and used to higher values, as well as double inv o/ps QV etc through to EDVII. Also seen Ceylon again from imperf through to various pence issues perf to 1/, an extensive range of surcharges 1885 onwards inc errors, dramatically misplaced, different types etc,. Then regular 1893 defins with mint to 1rp 50cts carmine and used again to 2rp 25cts blue. Then a useful range of EDVII and KGV again with rp values inc multiples etc. Followed by Hong Kong QV early issues through to turn of the century, there is also a 96cts olive present but this may well be a Sperati, through to issues of 1935 Silver Jub complete, also noted treaty ports etc. Then Straits Settlements QV again inc interesting cancels, company surcharges through to KGV SJ complete and a similar pattern on the tigers Federated Malay States, etc. Johore, Kedah etc, Palestine interesting, then K.U.T. even a little KGVI here, Brunei, Jamaica, Rhodesia inc 1890 to 4/-, followed by 'coat of arms' to various shilling values etc, as well as good British South Africa Company o/p to 6d and lots more to pound high vals, admirals to 10/- latter with perf-in, doubleheads to 2/, well worth researching through to Zanzibar etc, etc. Much more here than described, needs work, occasional mixed condition on the classics.
Collection of superb used KGV to early QEII issues, neatly written-up on quadrille pages in an album, alphabetically organised from Ascension onwards. The collector has gone into great detail on the perforations and papers here, occasionally with greater depth on the different printings than is covered by the Gibbons 1840-1970 catalog! Includes Ascension 1934 series to 5/-, Barbados seahorses to 5/-, Bermuda to 5/- key plate, Ceylon with 1935 silver jubilees complete on registered cover, KGVI to 10r with a plethora of perfs on the pictorials unchecked for better varieties, Grenada 19345/36 complete to 5/- including the perf varieties, Nigeria with lots of different types on the KGVI 2/6 blue and black and 5/- orange and black, Northern Rhodesia 1938/52 giraffe and elephant complete to 20/-, St. Lucia 1938/48 complete including all the listed varieties and 1948 silver wedding complete, Sierra Leone 1938/44 pictorials with three different printings of the £,1, and much more. A most attractive collector's collection with superb quality and considerable eye appeal throughout the album.
A 'beat-up' collection housed on homemade album leaves in a very battered album with several 100s of stamps, mint and used from QV through to KGVI, most of the value thru to 1945 with for example, a range of Bechuanaland Protectorate o/ps from QV inc KGV 1/-, Bermuda from 1865 pence values, British Guiana ships to 25cts, British Virgin Islands with KGV to 5/- defin superb used, Cyprus different dies QV to EDVII, , Egypt 'sphinx and pyramid' to 5 piasters, followed by the 1888s to 10 piasters, Gambia KGV to shilling values different shades, China British Post Offices in with KGV defins from 1cts through to $1, India Native States with a good range of Jind inc EDVII mint to 1r, Patalia this time QV to mint to 1r bicolored, lots of Gwalior inc Hindi script only, dozens of Hyderabad, as well as Cochin deserving further investigation, similarly Travancore with much here needing the benefit of time, Mesopotamia superb used to 8 annas on 10 piasters and much more. The collection ends with GB,  ,normally it is the other way round, there are offices abroad, EDVII shilling value study etc. Very much an old time collection, needing a bit of TLC but will yield surprises.
Hundreds on quadrille pages in an album, virtually everything one of a kind, starting with over two dozen kangaroos to the 2/- and specialised KGV heads, through to 'robes' 5/-, 10/- and £,1, 1948 arms high values complete to £,2, etc, followed by A.A.T. to 2/3d, Cape of Good Hope with triangulars, Gibraltar, Hong Kong with early QV, surcharges inc. $1 on 96cts purple on red, through 1935 jubilees complete used, 1937 coronations mint, 1941 centenary series complete mint, 1945 victory mint and used, KGVI defins to $10, Annigoni set, etc. then India with useful range QV onwards inc. 1860s/'70s officials, as well as Maldives, Malta, Newfoundland with a range of 19th century mint and used. A vintage collection formed a few decades ago.
