43 ogbl imageMA-OF black (S.G. Spec. AS5), the phenomenal mint block of eighteen (6 x 3) with 10-17 mm. sheet margin at left and inscription "ICE 1d. per label 1/- Per Row of 12. £ 1.. Per Sheet. Plac", "MF" has double letter "M", vibrant colour, wonderfully well margined all around and with practically full original gum (ink mark on reverse of one stamp), a few minor thin spots and negligible traces of foxing often associated with this paper and characteristic of the gum; also accompanied by PA-PF strip of six with sheet margin and inscription "PR", unused with full to large margins (ironed out horizontal crease), which comes from this sheet and therefore reconstructs the original block of twenty-four, which in all probability is the largest surviving multiple from this plate; a wonderful multiple, being one of the largest remaining mint blocks still in private hands, of the highest exhibition calibre, not only one of the gems of the collection but also one of the great classic pieces of Great Britain and world philately; 1996 BPA certificate; ex-Adams and "Daisy". (Image) Est. £150,000-200,000

Closed or SOLD for £165,000.00

(Image) Est. £8,000-10,000

Closed or SOLD for £9,000.00
Closing..Mar-15, 08:00 AM
