1179 c   Indo-China First and Second International Commission for Supervision and Control in Indo-China postal history collection comprised of covers and/or letters sent from or to various delegates to their home countries, the first I.C.C.S. from 1954-70 is comprised of 24 covers from the Canadian delegation, eight from Polish delegation and 44 from the Indian delegation, plus their special overprinted F.P.O. stamps and many corresponding first day covers, the second I.C.C.S, from 1973-75 is shown by 67 covers from the Canadian forces, 14 from the Hungarian delegation, 24 from the Indonesian delegation, ten from the Iranian delegation and twelve from the Polish delegation, all these with a good variety of frankings, postal marking and cachets, mostly mounted and written-up on album pages; the International Control Commission in Indo-China was the international inspectors force established in 1954 to enforce the Geneva Accords that ended the first Indo-China war; the I.C.C. goal was to keep the cease fire and to report any violations against it; the I.C.C. force comprised of inspectors from three countries, each of them supplied one-third of the personnel: Canada as representative of the Western non-communist bloc, Poland as a representative of the Eastern communist bloc and India as a representative of neutral non-aligned countries; the inspectors were posted in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos; with the signing of the Paris Accords in 1973, the I.C.C. was replaced with the I.C.C.S. and India was not a participant. D112 and 469, with about 70% of the value being in the overprints/surcharges on issues of Saudi Arabia, including a large number of errors on the September 1923 set, the latter issues include many complete sets in quantities of around four to sixteen with many better, the Saudi issues with some minor faults, usually small gum stains, but the majority are fine-very fine, o.g., l.h. or n.h., with a few used; three BPA certificates accompany. 1190 ogObl   Jordan overprints and surcharges on stamps of Saudi Arabia extensive specialized collection of these fascinating issues in mounts on quadrilled pages in two Elbe albums, all the issues are represented, mostly mint but some used as well, with numerous multiples, the April 1923 issue is especially strong, including two inverted overprints (1/8P and 1P), and many plate varieties such as looped, long-joint and short "R", short "K", etc., often with normal se-tenant, the September 1923 handstamped surcharges include several surcharge errors, there is a very nice section of the 1924 Royal Visit, both black and gold overprints, with varieties, similarly nice March-May 1924 new setting with numerous varieties, both ½P well represented, the largest and most interesting section is that of the September-November 1924 issue, replete with overprint varieties, many in pair or block with normal, including the "1242" and "1343" date errors as well as Arabic lettering varieties, the last issue is that of August 1925, and this also has some varieties including inverted overprints mint with a few types and used (all perforated) and the sets both perf. and imperf. in mint blocks of four, making this a marvelous opportunity for the specialist to acquire an excellent collection that will fill many hours in study.
