252 O 3 image#3, 1851 12d Black on laid paper, a magnificent used example of this great classic rarity, being in a condition that only a tiny number of the known used examples can boast, featuring four large margins including a portion of the adjoining stamp at top, strong color and a crisp detailed impression on fresh white paper, light target cancel not obscuring the design as it so often does, extremely fine; one of the finest used examples in existence; 1999 PF certificate; ex-Caspary (Unitrade C$180,000.00).A total of 51,000 stamps (255 sheets each of 200 subjects) were issued, however, the stamp proved to be quite unpopular with the public due to its limited usage for specific postal rates to distant destinations, hence it saw limited distribution, only a mere 1,450 stamps were ever sold in over three and a half years of use and all remaining stamps were destroyed in 1 May, 1857; a highly desirable example of this coveted rarity which is missing from most collections. 259 og 7 image#7, 1855 10d Blue on thin paper, a wonderful mint example of this rare Pence issue, boasting numerous desirable physical characteristics, including showing the dot after "cy" from the first vertical column, plus its margins are uncharacteristically large, the color is intense and the impression could rival that of a proof, it also displays a remarkable overall freshness which belies its age, while the reverse reveals full clean original gum, tiny nick in the top margin which is barely visible, otherwise extremely fine; a finer mint single would be a challenge to locate; ex-"John Foxbridge" and Sir Gawaine Baillie; 2018 Greene Foundation certificate (Unitrade C$24,000.00).
