2174 ngbl Hellrigl #34, a imageHellrigl #34, a, 1917 ½ Orange vermilion on native paper, imperforate, tete-beche pair, setting 6, positions 33-36/57-62, impressive irregular bottom left corner block of 22, (6x4 minus horiz. pair at top right), the inverted position is the bottom left corner stamp, position 57, this block shows constant plate flaws in seven positions, large to wide selvages and the other margins are full and large as well, fresh bright color on unfolded paper, trace of foxing that is normal and largely confined to the outer edges, very fine and an amazingly choice multiple for exhibition.The striking multiple offered here is the third largest known mint multiple of this rare stamp following a blocks of 32 and 24 from a different sheet. Tete-beche pairs are of the greatest rarity with only four mint examples believed to exist. Three of these are in these three blocks each containing one example. This rarity explains why neither Scott nor Stanley Gibbons price tete-beche pairs.
