2208 Obl Hellrigl #38d, e imageHellrigl #38d, e, 1917-30 2a Venetian red on native paper, imperforate, complete sheet of 56, setting 27, used sheet with mostly full wide margins (thinning of the inferior paper affects bottom right stamp), Smythies considered this setting and the brown red shades associated with it to be the rarest of the Two Annas settings, it is certainly unusual having "cleaned lettering" making the letters stand out but distorting the inscriptions, this setting is identified by six inverted cliches found in positions 8, 14-15, 18, 19 and 48, which is unique to settings with the full 56 cliches, Birganj telegraph cancels, bright and scarcer color, paper is very thin creating flaws and causing some of the impression to be erratic, fine and scarce; ex-Garratt-Adams (Scott #15, a var.; S.G. #36, a; £3,260+). 2209 pbl Hellrigl #42f, g imageHellrigl #42f, g, 1917-30 2a Orange brown on native paper, imperforate, reconstructed sheet of 55, setting 28, this setting is the only one that has position 9 only omitted and consists of two blocks with a five stamp overlap both confirming the missing cliche, both blocks have full large margins, cancelled by Kathmandu head office telegraph cancels and both have portions of two different telegraph forms on the reverse, this setting has the same inverted cliches found in positions 8, 14-15, 18, 19 and 48 as setting 27, rich uniform color; very fine; a scarce setting that was soon changed again by eliminating more cliches; ex-Garratt-Adams (Scott #16, a var.; $831.00+; S.G. #40, a var.; £834+).
