712 O 48a image#48a, 1922 1m Dark brown, inverted overprint, London II, perf. 14, an incredibly rare and remarkably handsome example of this error of the Waterlow and Sons printing, this error is only known used and this example is one of the finest examples known, being wonderfully well centered amid large balanced margins, a slight trace of perf. toning at top right mentioned for accuracy and totally insignificant on this rarity, extremely fine; this is the rarest of all errors in the Palestine Mandate issues, and interestingly all examples of this error have an inverted watermark as well; a rare opportunity to acquire a stamp that is missing in virtually all collections; 1993 Michael Bale certificate (S.G. #71b; £12,000).
