210 nh/og 332 var./337var. image#332 var./337var., 1908-09 Washington-Franklin "China Clay" varieties, five different values comprising 2c, 3c, 5c, 6c, and 8c singles, each with a PF certificate or one with a PSE certificate identifying them as the "China Clay" paper variety, controversy exists as the to the true nature of the paper though apparently they are not the product of experimentation by the Bureau of Engraving and the Philatelic Foundation no longer gives an opinion on them although experts are in agreement that they are printed on distinctive paper, also a sixth item being a 3c Deep Violet on thick gray experimental paper with a photocopy of a 1992 PF certificate from which this was taken, o.g., the 2c Carmine and the last 3c Deep violet on thick paper are never hinged, fine-very fine.
