Shaw correspondence covers, a huge holding of 148 covers mounted on his exhibit pages, plus an additional 265 covers in sleeves, all ranging from the 1860s to the late 1870s, includes many covers with 3c franking from small towns across the country, with many discontinued post offices, quite a few fancy cancels and colored cancels, including Brown and Violet, unusual postmarks, illustrated and advertising covers, western states including Territorial, useful 1869 issues, as well as some postal stationery, however much of the values lies in registered covers, including 22 15c Bank Note usages, mixed issue frankings and multiples frankings to make the 18c or 11c registered rates, the vast majority are clean fresh covers that will retail in the $10.00 to $250.00 or more range, with the overall quality being far superior the what is normally encountered, overwhelmingly fine-very fine and better; a highly desirable lot which should be thoroughly viewed to be fully appreciated; five certificates accompany.
