1508 FDC 855 #855, 3c Baseball, accumulation of 292 cacheted first day covers each cancelled on June 13, 1939 and most from Cooperstown, NY although a couple of other cities were noticed, duplication is present with most not exceeding fifteen, some better cachets noticed including 39 Cobbett's (Planty #15), 88 Cosby's (Planty 16a/28b) with a majority of the known mini-photo cachets, 3 Gundel's (Planty #41), Parson (Planty #76), Wooley (Planty #84), among numerous others, most seem to be addressed, general condition fine or better with some typical toning; a challenging grouping of these popular first day covers. 1515   World War I "U.S. Official" Photographs collection of 227 different real photographs housed in two albums each inscribed "U.S. Official" in the corner, most measure in the range of 215x165mm, encompasses a variety of different scenes which look to be all taken in Europe, scenes include soldiers/officers (including General Pershing), trenches, artillery (cannons, machine guns, etc.), railroads, Red Cross, blacks, cavalry, prisoners, transportation (vehicles, airplane, ships, etc.), among many others, condition seems to be mixed but generally fine or better; a beautiful set of first-hand WWI history seen through the lens of a camera. 1518 c AAMC #1025 ImageAAMC #1025, March 17, 1924 Round the World Flight by U.S. Army Aviators, Santa Monica-Seattle Leg, U.S. 2c postal card (Scott #UX25) cancelled by "Santa Monica, Calif./MAR 17" c.d.s. with a purple and green Clover Field cachets at left and "Around the World Flight/United States Air Force" handstamp in red across middle, upon arrival card was then re-forwarded by train and cancelled "Seattle, Wash., Terminal Sta./APR 4, 1924" over 2c postal card indicia, a U.S. 1c Washington was added and cancelled by a violet San Francisco double oval, from there the card was sent "By U.S. Air Mail/Transcontinental" to it's final destination in New York, card with an insignificant corner crease at top left, still a very fine usage, lot also contains three other postcards including another First Leg with violet Clover Field cachet and two carried on the coast to coast Atlantic to Pacific leg, one with greenish-blue handstamp stating just this, both dated Sept. 5 Boston c.d.s., also very fine.
