showpiece.
Note: "The backing paper appears to be from an airmail envelope with a remnant of a Chinese newspaper, possibly used as wrapper.
“Clubbed mail” was common practice in those days with a lot of Chinese working abroad. The post office later banned this practice since it was cheating revenue; instead of posting several letters, letters were sent to an agency for distribution." (Image 1)
