1824 (21.1) Large part folded letter sent from London to Newry, rated “1/3” paying the London to Dublin, deleted and rerated "1/10" pay a further 7d Dublin to Newry, and showing a clear strike of the Newry REFUSED straight line hs in
black, the letter was refused and returned by Pat Bradley whose endorsement on reverse was superimposed by the NEWRY/50 mileage marking, vertical tear through the centre of the cover, an extremely rare usage as there are only three recorded example
of the Newry handstamp.
