80660 , S.G. 1436 var image1991 1r Gandhi Definitive PRINTED ON GUMMED SIDE in mint n.h. block of four, not catalogued in SG and a new modern India variety. Apparently, only 2 sheets were printed on gummed side and was sold at Calcutta PO and returned by buyer saying the stamp is not sticking with moisture. The office clerk then resold the two sheets privately. The block of four on sale shows the right hand vertical pair thinned on the reverse. Only 2 sheets are believed to have been printed on gummed side and one cut up into singles and blocks and only one intact sheet exists in private hands.
