1864-1929 extensive collection from the 1864 early handstamps to the pictorials issues collection on pages. First issue of Soruth (SG 1) on cover travelling to Bhooj? via Rajkote, 1 anna on pink (SG 8), 1 anna on azure laid
(SG 11), a double rate cover and 9 other typesets which includes 2 singles of the 4 annas Devanagari numeral. Included in the lot is the complete sheet of 1 anna red on laid (SG 13) with the variety character omitted (SG 13a) in position 17. From the
1886 period we note complete sheets of the 1 anna green (perf), 4 anna red (perf) and the 1913 period includes the 1 anna green with overprint THREE PIES, 4 annas red with overprint ONE ANNA. From the 1914 period, there are complete sheets of the 3
pies green (both perf and imperf) and the 1 anna red (perf). The 1923 period consists of the complete sheets of the surcharge issue of THREE PIES (in gujrati) on 1 anna red and the 3 pies mauve pin-perf 12. The 1924 period consists of the 1 anna red
sheet of 16 and then finally the 1929 period sheets of 3 pies mauve double pane (imperf & perf). The 1929 pictorial represents mint stamps of both postage and officials (with all types of SARKARI overprint) and ends with the 1948 surcharge of ONE
ANNA on the pictorial issues. A neatly arranged collection on pages with 13 complete sheets. Fine to very fine (SG £ 6000++). (Image 1)
