80115 O, S.G. 3-6 image1944 Idar complete issues (SG3-6) on a palace stationery (royal crest embossed in back flap) address to Major D Souza with undated strikes of the Himmatnagar postmark type G2a, this is probably a CTO cover. For a very long time, this was the only cover known with the 1944 issues to dealers outside India but more were found in later years, a piece of history and material for future research (cover mentioned in an article in India Post Vol 33, 1999). A detailed study of first lithographic prints of the sun god with plating study and descriptions. Complete sheets of first issues can be seen along with sheet numbers in manuscript. Native covers with lithographic first issues canceled with pre stamp native seals including a cover with three different first issue franking. Later chariot issues and jail press issues as sheets are also seen on pages and covers with multiple frankings. The investiture complete unused set as well as usage on covers with mixed frankings and later portrait issues and overprints are present showcasing larger part sheets with overprint varieties all explained. An excellent and well researched material (SG £ 15'000++).
