50225 Michel 13 image1865 (Jan 30) Cover from Bucharest franked with 20pa red tied by rare experimental trial cancellation of framed network type in black (Kiriac-15R, fig. 362), an exceptionally rare mark in use for just five weeks, the stamp being an exhibition quality item with the sheet margin at bottom and extraordinarily large margins; this letter is explicitly mentioned in "Stampilografie Postale" by Kiriac p.94; the finest cover recorded of this major cancellation rarity and possibly the earliest known use of the Cuza issue; which was only sent to the Post Offices on January 21st 1865; ex Oddor (1934).(Image 1)

50233 Michel 16y image1867 (Oct 16) Mourning cover sent to Brasov (Transylvania, Austria) franked with a 20par black on light pink paper, four good to large margins, tied by a black GR1 "gratar simplu" cancellation, with "Calarasi" cds and Austrian post "Porto" to front, the letter originating from Silistra in Bulgaria being mailed from across the Danube via the neighbouring town of Calarasi, the letter being directed to Bucharest by the Romanian post, then passed to the Austrian post who delivered it with a 20 kreuzers surcharge, a transit "Bucuresci Diminieata" dated 16th Oct, an undated Austria post "Porto" and an arrival "Brasso" dated May 18, vertical filing crease, otherwise very fine; pre-postal treaty covers to Austria franked with the 1866 issue are particularly rare, this originating from Bulgaria being unique; cert. 50238 , Michel 17 image1869 (July 20) Cover to Braila franked with a 2b orange, large four margins, very rare and spectacular variety "PCSTA", tied by a time indicating T69 "Bucuresti" cds, arrival on reverse in blue dated 23/7, the cover being a folded printed matter article concerning a commercial signature specimen (thus the 2b franking being the correct rate for printed matter up to 15 grams), horizontal filing crease centrally not affecting stamp, attractive cover, very rare and fine, especially so given the size of the margins and the error in "POSTA"; this variety is only present on one position of the six different stones, almost certainly a unique variety on cover; cert.
