RED OVERPRINT: 'R.G.' on Rouletted 2d bright vermilion, rouletting on three sides & cut from the sheet to preserve the design at right & clear of the design at the top, GPO cds of MY19/68. Superb. Underrated at RR: unrecorded unused. Superior to examples in our auctions of 15.5.2004, 20.11.2004 & 22.6.2019 ('Tamiami') that sold for $426 $460 & $527 respectively. [Date range 7.4.1868 to 19.5.1869]

RED OVERPRINT: 'R.G.' on Rouletted 2d bright vermilion with Shaved 'G' in 'R.G.', rouletting on three sides - very wide at left - & cut from the sheet clear of the design at the top, GPO cds of MY28/[68?] clear of the variety. Superb. Rated RR+: the variety unlisted by Ron Butler.
RED OVERPRINT: 'R.C.' (Error of Lettering) on Rouletted 2d bright vermilion, rouletting at left & the base and cut from the sheet at base to preserve the design and at top just touching & a little into the design at right, very fine GPO cds of 'MY28/68' clear of the 'C'. Unlisted by Ron Butler: Don Pearce has recorded three examples, so it should be rated RRRRR.
Most of the errors of lettering have been previously ascribed to the users they purport to represent: eg 'G.S.' for 'C.S.' and 'S.C.' for 'S.G.'. There can be no doubt about this situation because there was no 'R.C.' user. [This error has also been recorded on a single 6d, and should exist on the 1/- as well]
RED OVERPRINT: 'R.C.' (Error of Lettering) on Rouletted 2d bright vermilion with the overprint a little under-inked but undoubted, rouletting on all sides, tiny separation fault at upper-right otherwise superb, exceptional GPO cds of AP9/68 largely clear of the 'C'. Unlisted by Ron Butler: Don Pearce has recorded three examples, so it should be rated RRRRR.
RED OVERPRINT: 'R.G.' with Deformed 'G' on Rouletted 6d bright blue, rouletting at the sides & cut from the sheet clear of the design at top & base, a couple of faint blemishes, large-part o.g. Rated RRRR. The 'Besancon' example - with undamaged 'G' - sold for SFr2300.
