RED OVERPRINT: 'P.A.' on Rouletted 2d bright vermilion with an Unprinted Void Area at Right, rouletting at top & left and cut from the sheet to preserve the design at the top and clear of the design at right & the base, large-part o.g. Rated RRRR. The 'Besancon' example - stated to be "rubbed at upper-left", which appears from the catalogue to be a similar void area as on this stamp - sold for SFr1210. [The apparent discolouration associated with the void is caused by the gum 'tinting' the paper. If the gum were removed, we expect this section would appear as white]
