BLACK OVERPRINT: 'M.' on Perf 11½-12½xRouletted 1/- red-brown on brownish tinted paper with Misplaced Perforations resulting in 'POSTAGE' at the Base, cut from the sheet to preserve the design at right, a couple of minor tonespots on the reverse, indistinct cancel. Rated RRRR: unrecorded unused (but the mint 'Besancon' example sold for SFr2180). Ex EB Lye and Lt-Col Harry Napier. RPSofL Certificate (1965). The similar 'Tamiami' example sold for $347. BLACK OVERPRINT: 'M.' on Rouletted 2/- rose-carmine, rouletting on all sides, very lightly mounted large-part brown o.g. Rated RRRR. RPSofV Certificate (1979). The 'Besancon' example sold for SFr180. [Most of the earlier Rouletted 2/- Departmentals are significantly stained by their characteristic brown 'blackboy' gum, even if it has been removed. This stamp is unusually fresh & about as fine as one could expect]
