[23km WSW of Swan Hill] This strike dated after the official closing date raises two questions: are we dealing with a simple date error or did the business extend beyond the official closure? The use of a 2d stamp may be seen to suggest a date error as the letter rate had decreased to 1½d from 1.10.1923. However, it may be just as likely that whatever stamps were to hand were used, or indeed that supplies of the new 1½d stamps had not been sent to this tiny office. A conundrum!
