GERMAN POST OFFICES IN CHINA: 1901 Boxer Rebellion cover with faint regimental cachet at lower-left, to Germany with 'China' Overprints 10pf x2 tied by 'KD FELDPOSTEXPED/DES/OSTASIATISCHE/ EXPEDITIONSCORPS/28 5 b ' cds, superb 'WESTERLAND' arrival backstamp, the flap opened a bit roughly.
GERMAN POST OFFICES IN CHINA: 1901 Boxer Rebellion usage from Germany of 'Feldpostkarte' with pre-printed part-address including 'Ostasiat' at lower-left slightly obscured by 'PEKING/16 3/01/DEUTSCHE POST' arrival cds, minor corner bend.
GERMAN POST OFFICES IN CHINA: 1910 commercial cover underpaid to Switzerland "via Siberia" with 4c on 10pf only tied by Schanghai cds, taxed with Swiss "30" in blue pencil, Postage Due 10c & 20c & tied by 'BERN/BRF DISTR' cds.
KIAUTSCHOU: 1900 '5 Pf.' on 'China' Overprint on 10pf Mi 2 (SG 8a), large-part original gum with several expertising marks including 'KILLIAN' & very minor hinge remnants, Cat €4000 (£4500). Ronald Steuer Certificate (2015) identifies the overprint as Type II, of which Michel states only 640 were printed.
KIAUTSCHOU: 1900 '5 Pf.' on 'China' Overprint on 10pf Mi 2 (SG 8a), full unmounted (postfrisch) original gum with Kohler expertising mark, Cat €6000+ (£4500+, for mounted). Superb. Michael Jaschke-Lantelme Certificate (2007) identifies the overprint as Sub-Type 4 (see footnote in Michel where it is stated that only 80 examples were printed) which occurred only twice on each pane at Pos [23 & 26], and [73 & 76].
KIAUTSCHOU: 1898 usage of German 10pf Postal Card with 'Nur fur Marine-Schiffsposten' Overprint * faint roneo'd 'Gruss aus China' illustration on the reverse, to Germany with very fine 'TSINANFORT/5 3/98/MARINE-FELDPOST' cancel & 'LAER' arrival cds. An important forerunner. Lease negotiations with China commenced 6.3.1898, the day after this was posted.
